Square Pegs In A Round World~~

This site is under construction!

I’m a mom, a retired teacher, and a special educator who is always on the hunt for the puzzle pieces to find the “work around” for my kiddo with autism, ADHD, and anxiety.

This is an effort at collaboration.  As a teacher, I have learned that the best outcomes occur when everyone puts their thinking cap on and works together as a team.  This pandemic has caused families and educators to change the way they do and view things.  It has been especially difficult on my kiddo with autism, as well as scores of others and their families.

As a result, I am creating this website to help families (mine included).  I will be posting resources, sharing tips, and blogging/vlogging as I go.   I do not profess to be the “expert” on Autism.  I know what has worked for our family and for some of my students.  It’s called the Autism Spectrum for a reason; our kiddos are capable of many things.  All are differently abled.

I have viewed my son as a puzzle for a long time.  During this time I have tried a lot of different things to help him.  Some work, some don’t.   My efforts have included everything from a naturopath, a psychiatrist, aromatherapy, sensory supports, counseling and much, much more.

I will be sharing many things on this site, I hope you find it useful.  Once the blog/vlog is up and running…please share any suggestions for improvement.  I am a life-long learner with an insatiable curiosity.  As a result I am always a work in progress and open to new ideas.
